THE ANDERSON TECHNOLOGY PLANS Technical Compilation A Technical Compilation involves discussions with the business owners and/or executive level management about the current technology, the plans for the business, and what new procedures and processes they are planning to implement in the next several years. Once this information is gathered, generally via email and phone conversations, a technical compilation of technology and industry best practices is prepared. This technology plan will provide the business owners and executive level management with an understanding of how they should be using their technology, what the best practices are for their industry, and provide a basis for comparison to how they are currently using technology in the business. Once the comparative is done between what is actually taking place and the industry best practices, then the organization can start to address the shortcomings to improve the technology environment and enhance productivity. Technical Review The Technical Review consists of discussions with the business owner, executive management, senior management, and selected employees to determine what technology they are using, whether the technology is working effectively for them, and to determine what hampers them reaching the next level of productivity. All these interviews are conducted via phone, email, and video conferencing, if available. Once the information is gathered, a report is produced containing analysis of the technology environment, known industry best practices for the areas under review, and the appropriate recommendations for improvement. This report takes a more in-depth look at the technology and provides very specific recommendations on how to address specific problems within the organization. Technical Audit A Technical Audit is an examination audit that comprehensively covers all aspects of the business. It looks at processes related to technology, the technology itself, and how the employees are or are not utilizing the technology. All areas of a company’s technology are examined and specific recommendations for improvement of both processes and the technology itself are made. Industry best practices are considered to ensure the company is getting the most value out of the technology expense. Productivity is examined and the company is provided with tools on how to measure their productive value gained from the proper and correct use of technology. Recommendations of changes to procedures are made for bringing additional productivity enhancements to the organization. These recommendations along with technology recommendations provide the basis for a complete and thorough road map by which the company can guide itself. TECHNICAL PLAN UPDATES As with any service, technical plans need to be updated on a regular basis. Any of the above technical evaluations can be reviewed and updated on a two, three, or four year cycle. Upon conclusion of a technical plan, you will have an option to pick the update cycle you wish to use for evaluating the progress on the current plan and to evaluate new technologies as they become available.
